Long pose of 4 days with standing male figure drawing model. Digital drawing tablet painting with a wide value range, starting with a drawing followed by mid tones and then working out to the more extreme values. This is a montage of quick sketch portraits of a female figure drawing model done over about 30 minutes. Each of the three poses was 10 minutes, and the composition was “on the fly” during the open studio and not planned ahead of time. I did move the first two portraits around until I firmed up the composition prior to adding sfumato and the third portrait but I did not resize or rotate the portraits. A digital drawing tablet opens some really great possibilities for on the go sketching.
Model was a no show, so the monitor posed for a portrait. She had these glasses which were really fun to work on. Basic digital drawing tablet drawing with some flat brush work for highlights and shading.
