Liked this portrait of a female figure model which was done over about a half an hour. Did a pencil drawing and then added both highlights and some shadows with the flat brush tool. Felt that it came out looking very much like a black and white painting with traditional media. Would have liked more time to work on the edges.
This was a long pose portrait with a female figure drawing model. Started with the pencil tool and then added a little bit of highlights and shadow with the flat brush tool.
Recently I have not had as much work that I liked enough to post but this one came our pretty well. It is a male portrait profile with emphasis on the anatomy. About 20 minutes and used pencil tool on the digital drawing tablet.
This was a 25 minute profile portrait of a female figure drawing model. Still at the workshop in Saratsota and getting some things to work on in the coming months.
These are two quick sketch figure drawing portraits of a male figure drawing model. About 15 minutes each. I am in a drawing workshop this week in Sarasota and this exercise was on the head with neck flexion.
This is a montage of quick sketch portraits of a female figure drawing model done over about 30 minutes. Each of the three poses was 10 minutes, and the composition was “on the fly” during the open studio and not planned ahead of time. I did move the first two portraits around until I firmed up the composition prior to adding sfumato and the third portrait but I did not resize or rotate the portraits. A digital drawing tablet opens some really great possibilities for on the go sketching.
Model was a no show, so the monitor posed for a portrait. She had these glasses which were really fun to work on. Basic digital drawing tablet drawing with some flat brush work for highlights and shading.
